Intel named the dual processor CPU for a desktop V8, because they are using two quad processors with a total of 8 cores.
Like AMD, Intel is using two server CPU ( Xeon with FSB 1066 MHz) but this solution have his one problems, V8 can be used with only one memory type FB-DIMM(that are more expensive comparing with DDR2 and with lower speeds) and the Intel platform is limited to one video card.
If V8 will stay in the final release with these main problems, then will not be so poplar to be in completion with Quad FX.
Intel and nVidia don’t make a great team together for implementing SLI support at V8 and if AMD will not offer crossfire, then the Intel initiative could be remain only a project.
